To be hopeful is to look on the future positively  and to see opportunity inside challenges we are facing rather than challenges in opportunities.

Hope is to look on the bright side of life with enthusiasm.

Hope is ability inside disability.

Hope is the ability to see the possible good in future events, especially when those events are potentially negative.

Hope is an optimistic state of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes with respect to events and circumstances in one’s life or the world at large.

hope is imperative to academic achievement. Students with high levels of hope are more likely to succeed at school.

Having quality friends who push us to do more strengthen hope and will not allow us to suffer anxiety and depression.


What hope is NOT:

Hope is not blindly expecting every positive thing to fall into your lap, nor expecting yourself to magically avoid every potential danger. This mentality can lead to inadvertent self harm (for instance, not going to the doctor about a pain in your chest because you’re blindly optimistic everything will be okay could potentially lead to your death).

It’s this idea of “false hope” or “blind hope” that has given hope a bad name in recent years.


Hope gives you motivation

The most hopeful people in the world are also the most motivated.

If you were absolutely without hope, you wouldn’t bother to even attempt to do anything positive because you will have only the believe you’ll fail. Is that not true? So why would you even both? Why bothering yourself working hard when you already know it won’t pay off? Why  should you bother going to the gym when you know you will never be fit. Why  bothering yourself? Without hope it’s completely pointless.

So you’ll never achieve anything unless they are things you have once hope for. 

Hope gives you the motivation.

Hope is that powerful voice inside the word, “Yes! I can.” it’s that voice that makes you work harder and it also makes you learn new things that gives you the impetus to actually try more.


life is difficult. There are many obstacles. Having goals is not enough. One has to keep getting closer to those goals, amidst all the inevitable twists and turns of life. Hope allows people to approach problems with a mindset and strategy-set suitable to success thereby increasing the chances they will actually accomplish their goals.

Those lacking hope on the other hand tend to adopt mastery goals? People with mastery goals choose easy tasks that don’t offer a challenge or opportunity for growth. When they fail, they quit. People with mastery goals act helpless and feel a lack of control over their environment. They don’t believe in their capacity to obtain the kind of future they want. They have no hope.

Hope is not just to feel good emotionally but a dynamic cognitive motivational system.

Under this conceptualization of hope, emotions follow cognition not the other way round.
Hope-related cognitions are important. Hope leads to learning goals which are conducive to growth and improvement. People with learning goals are actively engaged in their learning, constantly planning strategies to meet their goals and monitoring their progress to stay on track.

A bulk of research shows that learning goals are positively related to success across a wide swatch of human life—from academic achievement, to sports, to arts, to science, to business and more.


Work hard for what you want because it won’t come to you without a fight.

You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to. If somebody puts you down or criticizes you, just keep on believing in yourself and turn it into something positive.


We must accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope.
Where there is no vision, there is no hope and their is mission.
There was never a night or a problem that could defeat sunrise or hope.
Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.

Hope is the power of being cheerful in circumstances that we know to be desperate.

Hope is one of the principal springs that keep mankind in motion.


You bear a significant importance to humanity. You exist to complete the mold. Each step you take, great or little is important to your self-growth and success. Don’t be hard on yourself when things don’t go right or when the journey seems tough. You have not just one extra year but an entire lifetime to keep trying until you get it right. Please be good to yourself by keeping hope alive always. It’s not about the new year. It’s about you.

Ways To Keep Hope Alive During The Tough Times. 

If you cannot change something, accept it Change can be scary.

Change removes things and introduces new ones in your life. You can either waste your physical and mental energy obsessing over change and trying to reverse it, or you can just go with the flow and create your own way to be comfortable with it.

Choose happiness over the right thing. 
One of the most self-destructive habits people have is over-thinking their every step, especially during challenging times.
You may be right in your evaluation of the “right thing” in a situation, but you may find yourself more depressed than you would be if you had just followed your heart.

Write it all down. 

Start a blog. Keep a journal. Document your tough times.
If you’ve had good moments, they go in, too. It’s cathartic having an outlet of sorts where you can put your feeling into words. Review your writing periodically, especially during particularly tough days.

Find ways to laugh. 
Read a funny book. Watch a comedy or a funny motivational presentation. There’s no medicine like laughter . Think of it as an expulsion of your tensions. Even if your state of cheer is temporary, it will have unburdened you of some of your constant tension.

Recall any setbacks in the past. 

This cannot be the first time you’re experiencing bad times. If you think hard, you’ll remember all those times you had a bad month at school, one really horrible summer vacation, problems among your family, job rejections—anything you can think of.
Now think about how you got past those obstacles. In the end, everything worked out, right?

Remember that everything has a lesson Be philosophical.

Does having tough times mean that you’ve stalled, that you’re not accomplishing anything anymore? Every moment you spend solving your problems during tough times you are learning something.
Dealing with sickness? You’re learning to take better care of yourself and be empathetic toward others.
Failing at work? You may be surprised to discover that you are in the wrong career or have the wrong working philosophy.
